Sponsor The Fighters' Fighter Feature: Grace Spicer

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Who are you? Where are you from?

My names Grace Spicer, I’m from South London, and I started Muay Thai just to get fit and lose some weight but fell in love with the sport and from my first session. As a kid I knew I wanted to start fighting!

2. Why do you fight?

I fight Muay Thai because off the buzz it gives you and it’s the best sport in the world.

Muay Thai has given me amazing highs and bad lows but it’s all part of the journey. Fighting in Japan and Australia was very cool and experiences that will stay with me forever. Places without fighting I may never have been able to go.

Muay Thai has given me belief, respect and determination to achieve my goals. You push yourself to limit in every way and sacrifice a lot In order to achieve what you want and be a good fighter but it’s all worth it when you walk in that ring, its a feeling you can't describe.

3. Do you have any hobbies outside of fighting? If so, what are they?

I love watching and playing football and Country music, It’s pretty much all I listen too! Apart from that just spending time with family and friends.

4. What is one piece of advice that has helped you in your fighting career and/or life?

Don’t have an ego. There’s a difference between believing in yourself and knowing you can win a fight to having an ego and being arrogant with it.

Also always keep learning and enjoying it. You shouldn’t enjoy all parts of fight camp otherwise your not training hard enough but in the grand scheme people who fight are lucky they even can so always remember that.

5. Which brands would you want to work with?

None in particular but any brands that would like to work with me.

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I want to just keep fighting the best girls in the world, I’ve got a few I'd still love to share the ring with. After fighting I want to carry on teaching and keep trying to grow the sport along with all the gyms and trainers.

7. What do you want to achieve through training and fighting?

I've already achieved a lot of the things that was on my list when I first started.

There’s a few titles I’d still love to fight for but away from that just being an entertaining fighter that people want to watch. Also to be able to create a life for myself teaching, doing what I love everyday after I’ve finished fighting.

8. Is there anyone you would like to give a shout out to?

I'd like to give a shout out to all my current sponsors!

Pure Sports Medicine in London

King tape

Raw Training

Lobloo

Brixton street wear

9. What is your favorite quote?

Cherish and lock away the best moments you have. Remember the feeling, the sight, the smell then they become memories and no one can ever take them away from you.

10. Do you have any upcoming fights?

Unfortunately due to Covid I haven't because they have all been cancelled, I’m still training staying sharp so when the call comes I'm ready to go!
